Wood chipping facility opened in Kill, Co. Kildare. Green Recycling bins introduced into Ireland. Skip Recycling line introduced at Killeen Road.

2004 - 2006

Dunboyne Materials Recovery Facility opened. Kilmainhamwood Compost Facility opened.

2009 - 2011

Solid Recovered Fuel Recycling process commenced at Killeen Road. Mixed Dry Recyclables (MDR) facility opened at Parkwest.

2013 - 2015

Brown Bin Compost Collections introduced in Meath and Wicklow. More optical sorting equipment installed at MDR Facility in Parkwest to increase recycling. Further investment in Solid Recovered Fuel Process.

In 2021, Thorntons Recycling proudly unveiled the revamped Killeen Road Materials Recovery facility. This state-of-the-art refit propelled our recycling and recovery rate to an impressive 92%, underscoring our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
