Your Green Bin

Recycling at home is really simple and can involve the whole family.

Get started with these easy steps.

Over 2/3 of the average household bin is recyclable. Approximately one quarter of the bin is used packaging which can be recycled, and a further third is usually compost-able kitchen and garden waste.

  1. Recycle on your doorstep - most areas have wheelie bin recycling but if not give Thorntons Recycling a call (01 6235133) and check it out!
  2. Keep your green bin beside your waste bin so that you can recycle at the same time.
  3. Please ensure that bottles/cartons are empty and cleaned before placing in the recycling bin.
  4. Remind everybody in the house to think before they throw and make sure the waste goes into the correct bin.
  5. Put out your Recycling bin on time -  dont miss the service!!!!.
  6. Keep your Thorntons Recycling Calendar in a handy place like the fridge to remind you to leave out your bin.
