Things to Remember

  • Payment of annual charges is due strictly 30 days from the invoice date
  • If you require an additional green bin, there will be be a charge of €40 applied to the account to cover supply and delivery fee.
  • If you are using our Pay per Lift system please ensure there is enough credit on your account at least 24 hours before your collection is due.   If your account is not in credit our truck will not be able to collect your bin.
  • Please ensure the bin is left out on time on the day of collection to ensure you receive a service.  The company will not be able to return to collect bins that are not left out on time.  Please note that damaged or stolen bins are subject to a €40 replacement charge.
  • Bins that are not left out for collection on time will be collected on the following scheduled service day
  • The company reserves the right to remove bins from premises without previous notice in certain circumstances (such as non-payment, damage, used for purposes other than waste disposal)
  • Payment of the annual service charge €50 for Pay per Lift Customers must be paid on the due date.  Failure to pay this fee will result in non-collection of your bins.  This annual fee is non-refundable
  • Green Recyclable Bin -  please ensure that only clean recyclable material is put in your bin.  If your bin is contaminated with rubbish or dirty recyclables the company reserves the right not to collect your bin until such contamination is removed.  The company also reserves the right to close your account for continued offences of this nature.
  • Under Current Local Authority Bye Laws once you present your bin for collection the bin must be closed.  You are not permitted to leave any material next to or on top of your bin for collection.  If you do not adhere to these regulations the COUNCIL may impose a fine on you.  Thorntons do not accept any responsibility for these fines. For more information on Bye Laws please follow the following links:
