End of Life Vehicles
Thorntons Recycling now offer a full recycling package for the motor industry, its commercial customers and the public. This state of the art facility will assist Ireland in meeting its requirements in the End of Life Vehicle (ELV) Regulations which came into force in January 2007.
At Thorntons ELV facility at Kylemore Park in Dublin 12 cars are de-polluted and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner (battery, oil, petrol, tyres, windscreen washer all removed) that meets all the requirements of the End of Life Vehicles Directive. A Certificate of Destruction (COD) is issued to the final end user and a copy of this form is sent to the Motor Registration Section of The Department of the Environment in Shannon to de-register the car.
